Tom joins They Will Kill You

Patricia Arquette and Tom Felton have joined the cast of They Will Kill You, the thriller being produced by Nocturna Pictures, the horror label formed earlier this year by Skydance and Andy and Barbara Muschietti. 

New Line is co-financing and distributing the feature, which will have Kirill Sokolov in the director’s chair when shooting gets underway in mid-September.

Zazie Beetz is toplining They Will Kill You, which is described as a horror feature laced with black humor and telling the story of a woman (Beetz) who answers a help wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious high-rise in New York City, not realizing she is entering a community that has seen a number of disappearances over the years and may be under the grip of a Satanic cult. The project has been described as being a tonal mix of Ready or Not and The Raid.

Tom Felton to Headline Sci-Fi Action Flick ALTERED

Tom Felton, who is best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film franchise, is set to headline the $15 million action/sci-fi film Altered, alongside Richard Brake (Game of Thrones, Barbarian, Mayor of Kingstown), Igor Jijikine (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), Aggy Adams (The Witcher) and Liza Bugulova.

The film is set in an alternate present, where most of the human population have undergone genetic enhancements. Two courageous outcasts, Leon (Felton) and Chloe (Bugulova), become embroiled in a battle for justice within a society fractured by genetic disparity and in the grip of corrupt politicians.

Altered is set to present at Cannes Film Festival this year, and is looking at an early 2025 release.

A Child of Science World Premiere

Bristol Old Vic has unveiled full casting for its upcoming world premiere of Gareth Farr’s A Child of Science, set to be led by Harry Potter film star Tom Felton, as previously announced. Performances will begin June 5 at the U.K. theatre with opening night set for June 11. The run will continue through July 6.

Felton will star as Robert Edwards, one of the doctors that helped pioneer the practice of IVF in fertility treatment. He will be joined by Jamie Glover as Patrick Steptoe, Meg Bellamy as Jean Purdy, Adelle Leonce as Margaret, Sonoya Mizuno as Lillian Lincoln Howell, and Sheena Steptoe. The company will also include Saikat Ahamed, Gruffudd Glyn, Bobby Hirston, Amy Loughton, Bebe Sanders, and Everal A Walsh.

Matthew Dunster is directing the new work, which tracks the creation of the revolutionary treatment. The project is personal for both Dunster and Farr, both of whom had children via IVF.

The production will feature scenic design by Anna Fleischle, costume design by Angelica Rush, lighting design by Sally Ferguson, sound design by Holly Khan, music by Genevieve Dawson, video design by Gino Ricardo Green, and hair and make-up design by Zoë Louise Gale. Casting is by Matilda James.
